Company History

– E-Web Design is formed from our founder and CEO Gary’s bedroom office to provide web design services. The IT Industry is booming all around the world and Australia is no exception. Demand for website design and development is high and largely driven by lavish spending by many Dot Com companies.

– E-Web has a handful of clients. We achieve #1 ranking in the leading search engine results for the keywords “web design Sydney” and “web development Sydney”, through use of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques.

– The Dot Com bubble bursts. Many leading web design companies go out of business due to high overheads and businesses cutting down on website spending. E-Web survives, because our business model was built on providing value for money, and not overcharging clients who were ignorant of how much a website should cost.

– Post Dot Com crash. There are now a lot less enquiries for new static brochure websites, but there is increasing demand for more powerful database-driven and e-commerce websites. E-Web slowly but steadily grows its client base.

– Google gathers momentum and is well on its way to becoming the number 1 search engine in Australia and the world. SEO is no longer just about meta tags but involves hundreds of ranking criteria. E-Web launches an SEO service to assist existing clients to obtain better search engine rankings for their websites.

– Due to increasing demand for SEO and other search engine marketing (SEM) services such as Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising, E-Web Design relaunches as E-Web Design and Marketing, with the aim of delivering cost effective search engine marketing solutions to businesses in Australia.

– E-Web Design and Marketing grows to over a hundred clients and four full-time staff, so we finally move out of our CEO’s house and into a real office. Demand for SEO and SEM is high, and is more profitable than competing in the saturated web design industry. We discontinue providing web design services and rebrand as E-Web Marketing.

– As a result of the decision to focus exclusively on SEM, E-Web experiences another year of strong growth. We sign on new clients such as ACP Magazines, Landcom, Nuss Removals and Kennards Self Storage. For the third year in a row, our team doubles in size.

– E-Web launches a reseller program with web developers, media buying, advertising and marketing agencies. We sign on more big names such as Fitness First, Greyhound Australia, Universal Magazines and Sydney University. Our team doubles in size yet again.

– E-Web grows to over 25 fulltime staff and several hundred clients. Infrastructure is developed to allow us to continue to grow in a scalable manner. To protect and further develop our positive culture, we create our Company Vision, Mission Statement and Core Values.

– Our company now has over 30 people and is recognised as one of the fastest growing companies in Australia. We are recognised with awards such as the BRW Fast 100 and Deloitte Technology Asia Pacific Fast 50.

– The SEM industry grows to become highly competitive. E-Web expands our suite of services to be all about online marketing, not just SEM. We bring on enterprise clients such as Bing Lee, CMC Lawyers and Matt Blatt Furniture. We win more awards, including the Australian Small Business Growth Champion and a spot in BRW’s Best Places to Work in Australia list.

– E-Web now has over 40 team members and our portfolio of high-calibre clients continues to grow . We implement a flatter organisational structure to keep our team members able and agile as we transition from “small company” to “medium-sized company”. Our wins include the Australian Business Awards, Asia’s Best Employer Branding Awards, and the Smart Company Smart50 Awards.

– E-Web continues to be recognised as a best place to work in Australia, securing a top 10 position for the third consecutive year. We continue to grow as a business, receiving further achievements in Deloitte Technology Fast 50, BRW Fast 100 and SmartCompany’s Smart50 awards. 2012 also saw a year of giving back with E-Web Marketing working together with Mission Australia to support those in need.
