There is truly no better online marketing event in the in the world than Pubcon, and this year E-Web will be attending to suck this conference dry of every ounce of the latest online marketing knowledge it has to offer. With a watertight strategic plan in place to spread our information absorption across as many sessions as possible, Wendy, Joshua and myself will surely return much wiser and ready to apply what we have learned to help our clients’ businesses grow online.
A feeling of anxiety begins to creep up on me now as the departure draws closer. The question of whether we have done sufficient preparation to make the most of the event lingers. The several preparation meetings that we have had over the last month instils some confidence that we have, but I still can’t shake this feeling that we have missed something… Regardless I know when I arrive I will hit the ground running with every piece of enthusiasm I can muster to make the absolute most of the trip.
I will be joining my two E-Web colleagues, Wendy Huang (Head of Social Media) and Joshua Hay (COO) at LAX international airport on the 5th November after their visit to the blogworld expo the previous week. From there we will be flying into Las Vegas to hit the strip and begin our preparations at the ARIA Hotel Resort and Casino (mostly hit the strip though).
So what makes Pubcon the online marketing event of the year?
Well for some it may be the appearance of some of the biggest names in the industry or the diverse range of online marketing topics covered, or the sheer size of the conference itself – with multiple speakers and panelists presenting in nine different streams at any given time over 3 days, plus an extra day first up of intensive training. For me, though, it is all about the opportunity to network and meet new and interesting people, maybe even make some new friends. This to me seems the true value we always get from attending these types of events: networking with like-minded people who are passionate about our industry and willing to do whatever it takes to be the best.
Are you attending?
If you’re attending Pubcon Las Vegas 2011, I would love an opportunity to meet up with you. Please get in contact with Wendy, Joshua and myself on Linkedin. If not, no need to worry, as we’ll be sure to take heaps of notes and are already looking forward to sharing what we’ve learned upon our return.
