Google Now Competes Directly With Microsoft Word

Google has added the ability to use its free Google Docs software both online and offline, through the plugin ‘Google Gears’.

This new plugin now lets Google compete directly with Microsofts leading product, Word.

Offline use of Google Docs provides no advertising revenue for Google, so one must be curious if this is a step forward in taking away market share from Microsoft?
