Removing URLs from Search Results Using Webmaster Tools

Removing URLs from Search Results Using Webmaster Tools

Direct from the Google Webmaster Central blog, it is now easier to temporarily remove a page that you no longer want indexed within Google’s search results. Steps are shown here below:

Remove URL Step 1

Remove URL Step 2

Remove URL Step 2

Previously there was a requirement by Webmasters to block the unwanted page before it could be removed from search results – this has now been made obsolete.

It should be noted that after 1 90 day period the URL may be crawled again by the Googlebots and the page re-indexed.

If you wish to permanently remove the URL, or learn more about removing URLs in general, they can be found within the Webmaster Forums.
