You must ensure that the links you purchase contain the keywords you are targeting. For example, if you targeting the keyword ‘organic food’, then you’ll want those two words somewhere in the text of your backlink. It’s best to keep your backlink short and concise too, so the search engine spiders (the robots that scour the web checking website’s link popularity amongst other things) won’t get confused.

Also, is the website you are purchasing your backlink from banned by Google? If it is, your website could get banned too if it links to yours.

Google’s Page Rank algorithm typically has updates every few months, so by building effective backlinks now, you might find that your site’s Page Rank has increased by the time the next update arrives. This will result in a higher search engine ranking for your desired keyword.
