Keywords and keyword phrases have tremendous power and are the driving force behind hits on your site. They will literally drive consumers to your website.

Good keywords and keyword phrases are the foundation of any marketing campaign for any website. So what are keywords and keyword phrases? Well they can as any word or group of words that are used to find information on the internet.

Therefore if you type in any word or group of words your computer will provide you with a list of sites that contain that word or words.

A keyword phrase is classed as a group of words which is from two to five words in length. Single words are normally so vague that they will produce millions of possibilities. The more specific the list of keywords the better chance a consumer has of finding an exact match for what they require. The best, easiest and quickest way of finding your keywords is to sit down with a piece of paper and think of as many terms as you can that will define your products on your website. This needs to be as broad and obscure as possible.

Take your time and get as many as you can written down. The ideal amount should be thirty to fifty words and phrases. After you have your keyword terms then you will need to research each and every one of them using one of the various search tools that are available.

From this you will need to take the top twenty to twenty five phrases that accurately describe your site and have a high volume of traffic and use the major keyword as the phrase to describe your site.
