The web site should have a blog where you can add your latest news and updates about your products or services and a links page where you can add links to other web-sites that link to you, sometimes you can be lucky enough to find some websites that do not require a link back, this is much better, and don't forget to add your site to as many (but relevant) directories as these can make a huge difference to your ultimate goal.
