The beauty of PPC (pay per click marketing) is the ability to have complete control of the traffic you receive, where you send them and what they see.

The secret is keywords! Once again keywords play a major role in this type of traffic generation.

Here's a quick explanation, you choose keywords relevant to your product or service, eg. you are selling Aston Martins so a good keyword would be "Aston Martin for sale". This is what we call a 'buying keyword', this is because if someone searches "Aston Martin for sale" there's a good chance they are looking to buy an Aston Martin.

You then craft a quality ad with the keyword inserted a few times. You choose country and area, PPC can be very geographical, so if your Aston Martin business is in Cambridge, United Kingdom, you can set your PPC campaign to target within a 20 mile radius of Cambridge. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad, once someone clicks on the ad and arrives at your website, they had better see exactly what they had in thier mind when they clicked your ad. So in the case of "aston martin for sale", when they arrive at your website they do not want to see Jaguar, BMW or Mercedes!

Now there is a lot more to PPC than this brief explanation, pay per click marketing is an art form, from crafting ads, to building quality landing pages, offers that convert, tracking, keyword selection, etc, etc.
