Facebook have announced that they will be introducing new privacy controls that will give users the ability to preserve social distinctions between friends, co-workers and family.
This is a much needed function that will allow people to seperate what people at work see compared to what people who are close to you will see.
Increasing security will allow for the user to take a much more hands on approach to organising contacts and the levels of access they have to your profile pages. Currently when someone becomes a friend on Facebook, they are entitled to see everything about you, although a limited view option exists it can create controversy as it is blatently obvious that you are blocking that individual.
