E-Web Marketing Wins #10 Best Place to Work in Australia
The Great Place to Work Institute has yet again recognised E-Web Marketing as a Best Place to Work in Australia. Our 10th placement in the ‘under 100 employees’ category was announced last night at the Doltone House in Sydney amongst some of the nations leading companies including 2013 winner Optiver Asia Pacific, 2013 runner-up and winner of 2014’s ‘over 100 employees’ category Atlassian.
What makes E-Web Marketing a Great Place to Work in 2014?
In previous years, with our fun workplace environment, it was easy to see why we won Top 10 placements in the coveted list for three consecutive years. But in 2014, the achievement goes beyond our foosball tables, ping pong bats and PlayStation remotes. In the past 12 months, we’ve strived to continue to improve the workplace culture with initiatives to create a happier, successful and fun life.
Flexible Work Hours
A balanced work life has always been valued at E-Web Marketing. As we have grown as a company, so have our team members and their family. We’ve set flexible hours for team members that can be changed each month to suit personal family schedules, as well as the schedules of the team members who are pursuing further study.
Transparent Company Policies and Progress
With a flat management structure, we have aimed to replace bureaucracy in the workplace with more transparent decision-making. Every E-Webber can express their views and have a say in changes that directly affect their day-to-day performance. As well, E-Webbers can request improvements or provide feedback in the workplace via their team leaders or to our Chief Empowerment Officer, Gary Ng.
And when it comes to progress, we’ve also adopted complete transparency. Each week, different teams take the floor to present their wins, challenges and personal goals achieved throughout the month – that opens the floor to further collaboration between team members who are able to assist.
In the words of the Great Place to Work Institute:
“Having a great workplace isn’t about the perks. It’s (about) moving away from inflexible control systems. We need to give employees responsibility and trust them to take that responsibility.”
Monthly Team Building Events
From trampolining to a spot of archery, E-Webbers get to decide how they would like to spend a nominated company allowance on activities to get to know other team members outside the workplace environment.
Friday Afternoon Drinks
This needs no explanation – who doesn’t like an early mark on a Friday? Each Friday, E-Webber’s end the working week by enjoying drinks and nibbles in the award-winning recreation room to ensure every week ends on a high note.
Weekly Training Sessions and Supported Learning
In a fast-paced industry, we understand the importance of staying on top of industry changes. This year, we introduced weekly training sessions where team members are treated to a presentation to continually grow their knowledge across all the services. Presentations are held by E-Webber’s looking to grown and learn from presenting, as well as by external industry professionals.
In addition, team members are encouraged to attend events and training sessions during work hours that will greatly assist them in their professional careers.
