Google Goes Green
Google has decided to go green in an attempt to reduce the environmental strain caused by the company’s large appetite for power to run its servers.
The philanthropic arm of Google (google.org) has pledged hundreds of millions of dollars into finding a way to lower the cost of producing electricity by utilising renewable energy such as sun and wind (Gooo Planet!)
If Google realises its goal, the cost of solar power should fall by 25 to 50 per cent, co-founder Larry Page said in an interview.
