Google has changed (a possible experiment?) the layout of brand keyword search results for multiple listings from the same domain. If you perform a search for a brand name (ebay, apple, amazon, etc) you may see something like this:
As you can see the listings are actually categorised by subdomain topic, and have been merged together under one giant search result. We are used to seeing the official website of a brand keyword dominating most of the first page search results, but until now they have shown up as distinctly separate listings. This change leaves more space for other relevant websites to appear as well.
Very interesting, Google. We can’t help but wonder – is this the way non-branded search results are also going appear down the line?
