Joshua a couple of days ago presented at the inaugural SearchSchool Sydney at Australian Technology Park, and a few weeks before that at the Melbourne version of the conference held at Federation Square.
Here is an excerpt describing the conference:
SearchSchool is a one day search seminar designed to introduce search and search optimisation techniques for small to medium businesses owners and managers. The seminar is unique by both content and execution, as it is designed for entry level delegates.
It will target businesses in this group who currently have little or no search optimisation on their sites.
The content will be designed to give recipients tools that they can immediately implement to improve the current website rankings. It will be produced & delivered information to their level of understanding –unlike other seminars currently available in the marketplace.
Joshua presented on Social Media Optimisation and gave an overview of the concepts, technologies and some of the most well-known social media sites around at present. Attending each of the events myself, I found that they were both very informative at a beginners level but those with a foothold in the industry already may have found it a little too basic. Joshua’s presentation, interestingly enough garnered a lot more interest and discussion during question time in Sydney than it did in Melbourne.
Below is a copy of the slides he presented – whilst not accompanied by his audio they still contain some interesting points.
