New Google AdWords Feature – Embedded Sitelinks

New Google AdWords Feature – Embedded Sitelinks

Google have released a new feature within AdWords. Embedded sitelinks link portions of your text ads to different pages on your website.

As you can see in the above picture, the new feature will appear as hyperlinks in the text of your ad.

Google says the advantage of embedded sitelinks to you as an advertiser is that it will encourage more users to click on your ad. For users, they’ll benefit by being taken directly to the page that is most relevant to their search.

How does embedded sitelinks work?

Embedded sitelinks are automatically be enabled when you meet the below criteria:

  • You must be running an AdWords campaign and have Ad Sitelinks enabled.
  • Your ads also need to appear in the top 1-3 positions (above the organic search results) in order to take effect.
  • Your ads must contain the exact text used from at least one of the normal sitelinks.

The new feature was rolled out globally last Tuesday 7th June, excluding China, Japan and Korea.

Have you noticed the new sitelinks and found yourself interacting differently with any ads?
