Search Engines Warned About Holding Data
A European Commission advisory body has stated that the data holding of search engines is getting out of control.
It has warned users that entities such as Google, Yahoo! and MSN hold user data behavior and statistics for around 18months, a long time to hold details of almost all online habits of registered users.
The commission has stated that these Search Engines need to be more clear on their privacy policies and delete data more frequently.
Search engine providers must delete or irreversibly anonymise personal data once they no longer serve the specified and legitimate purpose they were collected for
Think about how much data Google would capture on any given day? It would be a lot to say the least!
