A Quick Overview of Wikia Search Engine Alpha

I came across this presentation today whilst cruising around SlideShare.net. It is a first impression of the Alpha version of the new Wikia search engine, a for-profit project by the creators of the not-for-profit Wikipedia web-based encyclopedia. It was created around a month ago and things may have come along a bit in development of Wikia since then but I still found it to be a nicely packaged overview of some of the features and concepts. I believe this search engine has massive potential if they can effectively overcome the typical problems like spam – which they have managed to do with Wikipedia by creating a community of evangelists.
